i did see somewhere that shell premium has the most cleaning additives, at a very slight cost to performance. using friends’ phone numbers at the gas pump, good idea lolIn my 8th gen owners manual, there’s a specific paragraph advising use of gas with a cleaning additive.

From Chevron’s own site: What is the difference between Chevron, Texaco or Caltex with Techron at the pump and Techron Concentrate Plus in the bottle?

How to install xiaomi redmi note 4x pontiac

The principal difference is additive concentration and rate of deposit clean up. Chevron and Texaco gasolines with Techron over multiple fill-ups will help clean deposits on intake valves and minimize harmful combustion chambers deposits. When added to a full tank of gasoline, a bottle of Techron Concentrate Plus results in an additive concentration roughly 10 times stronger than Chevron and Texaco with Techron.

This mega-dose of Techron provides a much quicker clean up of intake valve deposits left by lower quality gasolines. In addition, the high concentration of Techron reduces combustion chamber deposits, which can help eliminate deposit-related engine knock or power loss.RT, the chevron guy was pretty clear what he told me. also, looking at that quote: “when added to a full tank of gasoline, a bottle of Techron Concentrate Plus results in an additive concentration roughly 10 times stronger than Chevron” would not make much sense unless they know how big your gas tank is. i think the language is misleading.

update: i have emailed the appropriate department, they will reply Quote: Originally Posted by dipr View Post i got the details straight from the company. a. the concentrate has 10x the amount of techron compared to the same volume of their regular gas. b. a bottle has 12 fluid ounces.

c. a gallon of gas has 128 fluid ounces (about 10 bottles volume). conclusion: just ONE gallon of regular chevron gas ($3) has the SAME total amount of techron as a bottle of concentrate ($10) !! 1. I really like the way you think and apply math to real life. Based on what that Chevron guy told you, your conclusion is spot on. 2. The problem is it appears the Chevron guy was wrong.

It appears he got his “10X” mixed-up. 3. For confirmation I found RTexasF’s quote: Ask Our Experts “ What is the difference between Chevron, Texaco or Caltex with Techron at the pump and Techron Concentrate Plus in the bottle? When added to a full tank of gasoline, a bottle of Techron Concentrate Plus results in an additive concentration roughly 10 times stronger than Chevron and Texaco with Techron.

” This seems very clear to me. I believe RTexasF is correct and the Chevron guy with whom you spoke is wrong. Adding a 12oz bottle of Techron to a 12 gallon tank will increase the concentration of Techron in the entire tank by 1,000% compared to the concentration of “base” Techron supplied in Chevron gas. Adding a bottle will make the tank 10 times as potent.

4. Also the Techron bottle states “Treats up to 12 gallons.” 5. If adding 12oz to 12 gallons makes the tank ten times as concentrated, it implies the 12oz bottle of Techron is 1,152 times as concentrated as what is in one gallon of Chevron’s gasoline. Math: 12 gallons = 1,536 oz x = concentration of techron in gasoline y= concentration of techron in the 12oz bottle 1,536x + 12y = 15,360x 12y = 13,824x y = 1,152x The concentration of techron in the bottle is 1,152 times that of what is naturally found in Chevron gas. This also implies that the percent of techron in Chevron’s gasoline is less than 1% and the percent of techron in the bottle is pretty much 100%.I think OP or the phone guy is confusing 10x concentration per tank vs concentration per bottle. I use Redline SI-1 anyways every 6 months so it’s kinda a moot point for me though. Something something Techron isn’t as good of a concentrate cleaner as SI-1.When I use the concentrate, about twice a year, I buy the one for 20 gallons and my tank is 15.9 capacity. It is a 2008 RAV4 V-6. I just don’t think you’ve got this right. no reply yet, but this is my exact question i put to chevron “lubetek” department: “how many gallons of regular chevron gas do you need, to get the same amount of techron that is in a 12 ounce bottle of concentrate ? love that math above, by the way! too many unanswered questions. the first guy today said “techron concentrate is not pure techron, it is in a base of P E A” but he was still not able to answer my question, which has been passed on. so i can’t believe adding 1 ounce of concentrate to 1 gallon of gas (128 oz) makes 10 times more techron than regular chevron gas! but i may be wrong.Christ just ask what the PPM of techron is in the bottle vs. in a gallon of pump gas. If it’s only 10x higher then well a gallon of gas has more techron than the bottle does. Quote: Originally Posted by dipr View Post no reply yet, but this is my exact question i put to chevron “lubetek” department: ” how many gallons of regular chevron gas do you need, to get the same amount of techron that is in a 12 ounce bottle of concentrate ? love that math above, by the way! too many unanswered questions. the first guy today said “techron concentrate is not pure techron, it is in a base of P E A” but he was still not able to answer my question, which has been passed on. so i can’t believe adding 1 ounce of concentrate to 1 gallon of gas (128 oz) is 10 times more techron than regular chevron! but i may be wrong. Based on the data straight from their website and my math, 1oz of Techron contains the same amount of Techron in 1,152oz of Chevron gasoline. Therefore, 12oz of Techron (one bottle) equals 13,824oz of Chevron gasoline. 13,824oz equals 108 gallons. I believe 108 gallons is your answer. You need 108 gallons of Chevron gasoline to get the same amount of Techron in a 12 ounce bottle. Think about what the website states. Adding just 12oz of Techron to 1,536oz (12 gallons) of Chevron gasoline increases the concentration of Techron in that 1,536 oz of gasoline by tenfold. The concentration difference is huge.It all doesn’t make a damn bit of difference anyway until 20 years from now when the environmental folks figure out we’re poisoning ourselves with Techron!! 2017 Toyota Highlander XLE. IF concentrate has 10x the amount of techron that gas does, a bottle is 12 fluid ounces and it would have the same amount of techron as 120 fluid ounces of gas — about ONE gallon. NOT 120 gallons ? “
