The 2500 Silverado looks OK. It does look better than the 1500s. The grille on the 1500s is overbearing, I don’t like it. The grille is too wide, the headlights are too small and too much chrome.

The Sierra has a nicer grille and bigger, more normal looking headlights. I also like the body on the Sierra a little better.

The grille on the 2500 Silverados has that line in it to break it up. The two 2500’s I was interested in have a 6.0 liter motor. I am not familiar with this, is there any known problems with it , or is it a good motor?

It’s pretty much GM’s new 5.7L. As solid as they come. It’s a GM Small Block, they’re bullet-proof Speramus Meliora; Resurget Cineribus Aut viam inveniam aut faciam If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire Uzzy. ‘Ich bin ein Detroiter’ Hidden Content Originally Posted by Chris Buckley, president of CAW Local 222 General Motors is the enemy, brothers and sisters Triple-X08 6.0 Liter L76 V8 Join Date Apr 2005 Location here Posts 2,209 Thanks Thanked 5 Times in 5 Posts Re: 94 s-10 4.3 still won’t start only items i can say is, intake manifold will leak air at times, coolant leak at the water pump gaskets, and the exhaust manifolds like to leak, as the bolts that hold them to the head break off, other than that, the engine is very reliable, and not to say this stuff will happen to all of them, its just items i see here and there. any small block variant is a very stout piece, and will provide good power, and reliability.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people. loid58 1.8 Liter ECOTEC Join Date Nov 2008 Posts 35 Thanks Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Re: 94 s-10 4.3 still won’t start Well guys, I found a 2004 2500 HD silverado extended cab with 20k mi on it with leather interior and every option available.

Test drove it today, and it was great, and I bought it. Not a scratch on it, really mint. Will keep you guys informed. By the way, thanks for all the help info on the 94 S-10. I,m giving it to a friend of mine that owns a junk yard. ( Repayment for all the parts he didn’t charge me for over the years).

I’ll have the new one Monday. Re: 94 s-10 4.3 still won’t start Originally Posted by loid58 Well guys, I found a 2004 2500 HD silverado extended cab with 20k mi on it with leather interior and every option available.

replaced computer , cpi unit and a buunch of other ****. I wish I had a fuul injection pressure test kit. I had plenty of fuel, not enough pressure.

Ended up being the fuel pump. You have to have a minimum 55 psi. The thing runs like champ now. loid58 1.8 Liter ECOTEC Join Date Nov 2008 Posts 35 Thanks Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Re: 94 s-10 4.3 still won’t start Well guys , check this out, i picked up this awsome 2500 HD from the dealer, they inspected it and said it was ready to go.. I got it home , and it wouldn’t start. Long story short, the starter motor died. Took it to a mech. fixed it , faxed the bill to the dealer, and everything is cool. Now the gas gauge is going haywire; this is only a 2004 with 20k mi on it. the dealer will take care of it, but its a little frustrating.

Will let you guys know Re: 94 s-10 4.3 still won’t start Originally Posted by loid58 Well guys , check this out, i picked up this awsome 2500 HD from the dealer, they inspected it and said it was ready to go.. Will let you guys know That’s odd. When I bought mine I was in no hurry, so they took their time with it and I requested that a guy over at their Nissan building detail it, because he’s the best the whole outfit had. Well when he done with it…the starter was dead! It wasn’t mine yet, so the dealership had to bite the cost. I got lucky, or it would have been the same thing with me. And for the gas gauge… somtimes running a couple of Techron treatments through the tank fixes that. Otherwise, it needs a new float/sending unit. What is techron?

is it some sort of fuel additive or injector cleaner? Re: 94 s-10 4.3 still won’t start Originally Posted by loid58 Today the gas gauge seems to be working, but I will still let the dealer look at it. What is techron?

is it some sort of fuel additive or injector cleaner? Yes. It is recommended by GM, made by Texaco, I think.

I can’t find it on the shelf in Canada, I buy mine in the USA. GM has their own fuel injector cleaner they sell with their lbael on it. I think they are one in the same, but I’m not certain. How will it effect the fuel gauge? Anyway if it’s still doing it I’ll bring it back to the dealer so they can fix it, they’re paying for it anyway.
